Bread Machine Pizza Dough

Everyone loves pizza. Wouldn’t it be nice to make homemade pizza? In this article, you’ll learn how to make homemade pizza dough with the use of your bread machine.

The following ingredient makes 1 pizza. If you are the type of persons that likes leftovers, you can double the below measurements.

Ingredients to make pizza dough:

  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of yeast
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • ½ cup of warm water
  • Pizza Dough

    Step by Step Instructions

Step 1: Add all the ingredients in the bread machine. Depending on the bread machine, there will be steps to tell you which ingredient comes first. Usually, you have to put warm water on the pan first then you add the flour. Place the salt, butter, and yeast. Definitely make sure that the water is warm enough to proof the yeast (about 105-110 degrees).

Step 2: Choose the dough setting on your bread machine and just wait for it to be finished. After a few minutes into the kneading of the bread, take a peak on your dough just to check if it is properly being mixed. If you think your dough is too wet, add a teaspoon of flour and continue to do so until you have a light and soft dough. If the dough is too dry, then add a teaspoon of warm water.

Step 3: Once the dough cycle is finished, remove the finished dough and transfer it to a lightly floured flat surface. This is where you will work the dough until you get that pizza shape you want.

Step 4: To add a little texture and taste to your pizza dough, you can dust the finished dough with olive oil. Dust it with cornmeal as well. This is also when you should add your pizza ingredients. Place tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, and other toppings that you want on your pizza.

Step 5: When you’re satisfied with the toppings, place the uncooked pizza into an oven and bake for 18-25 minutes. The oven should already be preheated to 425 degrees F before placing your pizza.

Step 6: Wait for the pizza to bake. You will know the pizza is done if you already see the crusts become a little golden and you can see the cheese melting.

Take note that flour is not the only base you can use. Some bread machines allow for other types of flour and if you want a healthier alternative, you can definitely do so. Whatever you use, make sure it’s supported by your bread machine.
